How to Delete Your Data
Last updated:
Your ledger is stored on your iPhone, but optional online features create separate service records. These steps explain what local deletion does and how to ask about eligible remote records.
1. Delete everything inside the app
Open FinTracker and choose Settings → Privacy & data → Delete all data while your plan is active, or use Delete all my data on the read-only access screen after it ends. This removes the local ledger, Bao chat history, Apple Pay import records, and merchant rules, and disables Apple Pay intake. It does not remove iPhone backups, exported files, Apple purchases, or prior records held by outside providers.
Online AI usage is counted under pseudonymous service identifiers sent by the app. Deleting your local ledger does not automatically remove earlier usage records on our server. An old Shortcut cannot recreate local entries after deletion unless you enable Apple Pay logging again and complete setup and access requirements.
2. Remove the app and its backups
Deleting the FinTracker app from your iPhone removes the on-device store along with it.
One thing to know: because your data is included in your normal iPhone backup, a copy may live on in iCloud or computer backups made while the app was installed, until those backups are deleted or rotate out. That’s Apple’s backup system, under your control. We can’t see or touch it.
If you ever used the manual JSON export, those files are yours too. Delete them like any other file.
3. Request deletion of eligible remote records
Supabase stores fair-use counters and purchase-security records under service identifiers. Apple and RevenueCat process purchases; PostHog and Sentry may hold product analytics or diagnostics; the configured AI provider may retain request content under its policy. FinTracker does not use Supabase anonymous sign-in in this release. Local reset clears the device’s stored purchase-proof state, but does not automatically delete remote records. Use the privacy request process below for eligible remote deletion.
Email privacy@baolabs.dev with your request before deleting the app, so we can explain what identifiers are needed to locate eligible records. We will verify and process requests under applicable law. Apple subscription cancellation and refunds are managed through Apple.
4. Waitlist emails
If you joined the waitlist, use the unsubscribe link in a message when available or email privacy@baolabs.dev to request removal. We will handle your request under applicable law.
