How to Delete Your Data
Last updated:
FinTracker has no accounts and keeps no cloud copy of your finances, so deleting your data is mostly in your hands — literally. Here is every place your data can live, and how to clear each one.
1. Delete everything inside the app
Open FinTracker and go to Settings → Delete All Data. This erases the on-device store — transactions, budgets, goals, notes, streaks, and Bao chat history — immediately and permanently.
There is no account to close, because FinTracker has no accounts.
2. Remove the app and its backups
Deleting the FinTracker app from your iPhone removes the on-device store along with it.
One thing to know: because your data is included in your normal iPhone backup, a copy may live on in iCloud or computer backups made while the app was installed, until those backups are deleted or rotate out. That’s Apple’s backup system, under your control — we can’t see or touch it.
If you ever used the manual JSON export, those files are yours too — delete them like any other file.
3. The little we hold: anonymous usage counters
The only app-related data on our servers is an anonymous device identifier (a random UUID generated on your device, not derived from you or your hardware) plus monthly usage counters for voice, chat, and insight calls — used solely to enforce fair-use limits. It cannot be linked to your name or email, and on its own it identifies no one.
If you’d like it gone anyway, email privacy@baolabs.dev and we’ll delete it. Once the app is off your phone, the identifier is an orphaned random number tied to nothing.
4. Waitlist emails
