Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By using this website or installing and using the FinTracker iOS app, you agree to these terms. These terms also describe how earlier waitlist signups are handled. If you do not agree, please don’t use the site or the app.

2. What these terms cover

These terms govern fintracker.net, earlier email waitlist signups, and the FinTracker iOS app. The FinTracker Pro Subscription Terms apply when Pro is offered in the app.

3. Who can use the site and the app

You must be at least 18 to use the FinTracker iOS app in this launch edition. By continuing with the Terms and Conditions agreement during setup, you agree that you meet this requirement. FinTracker does not verify your age or identity. We will review access for minors before changing this policy.

4. Earlier waitlist signups

If you previously submitted your email, you agreed to receive:

  • A launch announcement when FinTracker becomes available.
  • Occasional pre-launch updates if you opted in to those.

You can unsubscribe at any time from any email. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle waitlist data.

5. Your license to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the FinTracker iOS app on Apple devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use, under these terms and Apple’s App Store terms.

Please don’t copy, modify, resell, or redistribute the app, and don’t reverse-engineer it except where the law expressly allows it.

6. Your money, your decisions

FinTracker is an informational tool: it records what you tell it and reflects it back. Bao’s suggestions, insights, and chat answers are not financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. See the AI Disclaimer. AI can make mistakes, so always verify amounts and check answers against your actual records.

You are responsible for your own financial decisions. Bao Labs LLC is not liable for decisions you make based on information or suggestions shown in the app.

7. Subscriptions

FinTracker requires an active trial or subscription to add or edit entries and use online AI features. FinTracker Pro is an auto-renewing Apple subscription with separate Subscription Terms. After access ends, you can still view and export existing data, restore purchases, manage your subscription, and delete your data. Paid Bao outfits are one-time in-app purchases and are separate from Pro.

8. Ending your use of FinTracker

You can stop using FinTracker at any time. Delete all data is available in Settings while your plan is active and on the read-only access screen afterward. It removes the local ledger, chat history, and Apple Pay import records and merchant rules, and disables Apple Pay intake. It does not cancel an Apple subscription, remove exports or backups, or automatically delete records held by outside providers. See the Data Deletion page for those steps.

If you materially breach these terms, we may terminate your license to use the app. Sections that by their nature survive. Intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law. Survive the end of your use.

9. Intellectual property

The FinTracker name, the Bao character, the FinTracker logo, the site copy, and all visual design are © Bao Labs LLC, all rights reserved. You may not use them to imply endorsement, build derivative products, or train AI models without our prior written permission.

Open-source components used by this site retain their original licences.

10. Acceptable use

Please don’t:

  • Attempt to break, scrape, or overload the site.
  • Submit other people’s email addresses without their consent.
  • Probe for security vulnerabilities without first contacting us at privacy@baolabs.dev (a dedicated security mailbox will be set up before launch).

If you find a vulnerability and report it responsibly, we’ll thank you.

11. Disclaimer

The site and the app are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the site or the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Nothing on this site or in the app is financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. FinTracker by Bao is a personal-finance tool, not a regulated financial advisor. See the AI Disclaimer for how AI features are intended to be used.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bao Labs LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of this site or the app. Our total liability for direct damages is limited to USD 100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or FinTracker shall first be addressed through good-faith informal negotiation. If unresolved within 60 days, the dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules, conducted in English, with the seat of arbitration in Wyoming, United States. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction for matters involving intellectual property infringement.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, United Kingdom, or any jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer protection laws prohibit the foregoing arbitration clause or choice of governing law, those mandatory local provisions apply to you instead, and you retain the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be flagged on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Continued use of the site or the app after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
